DAAD Summer School I July 08-12, 2024 KLU Hamburg

The one-week summer school targets six students from UoN, UDSM, and KLU, respectively. Application should include:

(1) letter of interest of not more than 600 words indicating their understanding of sustainability and its application to current studies,

(2) copy of academic transcripts (certified by the faculty), including grading scale for the completed years of study,

(3) copy of the curriculum vitae and

(4) letter of recommendation from any of the current lecturers. You may refer to the attached agenda for further information.

Deadline

The application documents should be submitted by the 22. May 2024. Selected candidates should be notified about the outcome of their applications before 23. May 2024.

 Logistics info

Travel-related expenses, including return flight, accommodation, visa, and health insurance package will be covered by the DAAD project. Flights will be arranged by the Kühne-Nagel travel office while the health insurance package should be arranged by the participant locally. Accommodation for the entire stay (check-in: 07.07.2024 / check-out: 13.07.2024) will be at Numa Fore Apartments whose address is Kapstadtring 1, 22297 Hamburg. Since breakfast is included in the hotel booking, the students are entitled to a daily allowance of 73€ for the entire stay (10,43€/day X 7 days). Daily allowance along with Schengen visa and travel insurance costs will be refunded via bank transfer or in cash upon student arrival. Local transportation in Hamburg will be arranged by KLU.

Important: Students should give us notice at least 5 days in advance if their travel is cancelled due to medical emergencies and visa issues. If they fail to do so, the participant shall agree to such cancellation costs in writing.

Besides six master's students, we will financially support the travel for one university staff/summer school coordinator from your university. He/she will be our contact person for any communication or travel-related matters.

To arrange for students to travel on time, I need a copy of their passports and application documents by next Wednesday, 22^nd of May (evening) at latest.
